“No calling is greater, nobler, or more fulfilling than that of motherhood.”-Sally Clarkson
I remember when I was a young 11 year old girl, on the floor of my bedroom dreaming about the day that I would become a mom. The planner that I am, planned out that I would have five kids (3 boys and 2 girls to be exact) and of course I knew what all their names would be. I envisioned that my kids were going to be good kids and motherhood was going to be a wonderful thing. I literally could not wait.
When I held my first born in my arms, my dream of becoming a mom finally came true. In so many ways motherhood was wonderful, just like I had expected when I was 11, but in so many ways motherhood was very hard. In this hard place that felt uncomfortable and not at all how I envisioned it to be, I found God. I realized how much I needed God and how much I needed to change. I know I am not alone in these feelings and I want to encourage you sweet mama to keep fighting the good fight. I want to encourage you with all my heart to keep your focus on God. It is through our beautiful moments and broken pieces that God shines through (2 Corinthians 4:7 But we have this treasure in jars of clay to show that this all-surpassing power is from God and not from us). So sweet mamas, lets let Him Shine!
When I am not writing, you can find me hanging out with my husband of 11 years and my two kiddos. I love a warm cup of coffee in the morning and I am known for throwing random dance parties in the kitchen. I am glad we are on this motherhood journey together! Can’t wait to connect with you.
